EOC Courses

Handling retakes and special grading scenarios for End-of-Course exam courses.

ℹ️ Automatic weighting: courses flagged as EOC in the district catalog auto-weight the EOC exam — typically 15% or 20% of the final grade — no manual setup needed.

1 Retaking Part of an EOC Course ▶

Student must retake only S1 or only S2. Use a term-set override to limit enrollment to the specific semester — so only that semester’s grade is recorded and counted.

1Apply a term-set override — go to the student’s Schedule tab or Grades tab. In the Grading Term column, click Default on the course, then select S1 or S2 — whichever semester the student is retaking.
2 Student Takes S2 Only — EOC Already Passed ▶

Student completed S1 and passed the EOC exam; now enrolling for S2 only. Only the S2 semester grade needs to be captured, so the system doesn’t re-calculate the EOC weighting from scratch.

1Set the Grading Term to S2 when enrolling the student in the course section.
2If S1 and S2 occur in different school years, manually average the grades from both semesters and enter the final combined grade on the transcript.
!Cross-year EOC grading — manual action required: OnCourse can’t automatically combine grades across school years for EOC courses. When a student’s two semesters span different years, the counselor calculates the combined final grade and enters it on the transcript manually.
