Tuition may be charged to each special needs student who is not a legal resident of the City of Brockton, unless waived by action of the School Committee.

A Policy Statement from the Associate Commissioner for Special Education establishes home community responsibility for special needs students, and districts may recover the cost for the student public school tuition from the Commonwealth under M.G.L. c. 76, s. 7 and s. 11.

A Brockton Public Schools’ invoice to recover costs of tuition for non-resident special needs students shall be issued by the Chief Financial Officer after written notification to do so by the BPS Director of Special Education.
